A Bad Case of Stripes opens with the main character, Camilla Cream, searching for the perfect outfit to wear on her first day of school. While searching through her closet, she is worried about what others will think of her while wishing she could eat a big bowl of lima beans.
Lima beans?! Who eats lima beans?! Camilla eats lima beans! Unfortunately, she wanted to fit in with the other kids at school so she decided to say she dislikes lima beans!
Once Camilla had chosen the perfect dress, she woke the next morning with a unique, new look!
Throughout the book, we learn all of the different ways the town's people try to help Camilla. Who would have thought the cure for her stripes was so simple?
